In this workshop the children take the place of counters and chess pieces: this is ‘people maths’. The colour of the hat defines the part a child plays in the activity.
We tackle a number of classic problems: non-attacking queens, jumping frogs, Graeco-Latin squares, … . Half the group provides the moving pieces; the other half tells them where to move.
